About me:

I have always wanted to be a storyteller.  You may think what does that have to do with being a physical therapist.  Like you, I did not know.  (I stumbled upon physical therapy while looking for careers that would help me make a difference in the quality of lives around me, while making a decent living- but that is a story for another time).  As a practising therapist, I became more and more adept at doing the techniques I was taught, then I was able to turn my mind towards what my patients were really telling me - listening and understanding their stories.  The roles they played in their own lives and the lives of the people they were connected to.

In physical therapy school, in my 1 hour introduction to pelvic rehabilitation class, I heard another story.  That only 3%  of the people who experience incontinence will tell their healthcare provider about it without being asked, and 18% will if asked by a healthcare provider.  But then there was the dilemma for the health care providers-what to do to help the patient who has now told them about these  problems.  Only a handful of physical therapists offered treatments for pelvic floor issues at that time.  I knew then that I wanted to change that narrative.

I have spent more than 17 years and countless hours learning not just orthopedic/ pelvic floor skills to perform assessments and treatments but to listen to  my clients' goals and aspirations.  Even if it is not completely related to their physical being, because it is those aspirations that make that body respond to that call.  A call to perform a routine activity with efficiency and a creative project with grace and fluidity.

At this intersection of conflict between what your body is able to do and what your body needs to do is where I hope we meet.  To partner with you and help you write your own story and make it about ability, about health, about living life with vitality in each moment, in each action, and to make a positive impact in the lives of your loved ones and those in our community.

My promise to you is this:  that I will be an advocate for your wellbeing, deliver individualized care with skill, kindness,

compassion, and integrity.
